Would you like to be considered for a Research Presentation Award? The recipient of the award will receive free registration at the next ESPID Annual Meeting. There are two additional awards this year which the Journal of Antibiotics are sponsoring: Best Poster Award & Best Presentation Award. Each of the awards will be considered using the same eligibility criteria set under the ESPID Research Presentation Awards which is scored by the Committee for Research, during the annual meeting. Successful candidates will receive a certificate and reward of 300 CHF / 292 EUR each.

+ ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (click to open/close)
- ESPID Members who submit an abstract to the ESPID Annual Meeting, which relates to research
- Applicants must be "good standing" members of ESPID at the time of the deadline (click here to download the ESPID "good standing" member criteria). Applicants must have paid their current subscription before applying for this award
- You are an early career investigator (ECI)*
- Your research must involve collaborative research across 2 or more ESPID countries

ESPID will only support one award relating to any one project. If you feel you have a project which more than one award would cover you should select and apply to only one ESPID award. If you have other awards/grants which are pending or have been recently funded, you must indicate this in your application and clearly state what support has been requested/agreed and when a decision is expected.
*Early Career Investigators Definition: you must be within maximum 16 years of your Medical qualification, or, if you are not medically qualified, your PhD or the highest degree you hold. Time tolerance is given for those individuals who have taken a career break for maternity, adoption or any other personal reasons. In such case, the 16 years limit will be extended by the total length of time taken out of work. A written confirmation, signed by the department head, may be requested.

- Successful recipients will be notified by email either during or after the ESPID Annual meeting has taken place. This allows all qualifying abstracts to be considered
- The recipient of the award will receive free registration at the next ESPID Annual Meeting.

- ESPID Members who submit an abstract to the ESPID Annual Meeting will be asked whether they wish to be considered for this award.
- If you are an “ECI” (see definition) and in “Good standing” (see definition), then you are eligible.
- The Committee for Research will make a decision at the ESPID Annual Meeting and the winners will be notified either during or after the Annual Meeting has taken place (by email).

When completing the online abstract application you will be asked if you wish to be considered for this award and whether your are an early career investigator “ECI” (see definition) and in “Good standing” (see definition). If you meet the criteria then you will be considered for this award. You application and any support documents should be in English.
